Job Description

As a Navy Chaplain, you will provide spiritual support and guidance to Sailors and Marines during their most challenging moments. You'll conduct worship services, perform religious ceremonies, and offer counsel while immersed in the lives of service members both on land and at sea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct worship services in various settings
  • Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms
  • Counsel individuals seeking guidance
  • Oversee religious education programs
  • Provide spiritual guidance and care to hospitalized personnel and their families
  • Train lay leaders conducting religious education programs
  • Promote attendance at religious services and retreats
  • Advise leaders on morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or equivalent
  • Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution
  • Two years of full-time religious leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense
