Job Summary
LDRP RN position in a 14-bed unit where patients remain in the same room for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum. Unit includes 2 OR suites for C-sections and 4 triage beds. Average 90 births/month, 1,200/year. Follows AWHONN staffing standards. EPIC and Centricity charting systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
- Attend deliveries, complete newborn care during the first hour, triage patients, circulate C-sections, and provide postpartum couplet care
- Manage titratable drips (Pitocin, Magnesium, occasional Insulin)
- Collaborate with charge nurses, resource nurses, CSTs, CNAs, and multidisciplinary team
- Float to other St. Luke’s Treasure Valley sites (Meridian, Nampa, Boise) within L&D, Postpartum, or Antepartum specialties
- Adhere to hospital scrub/dress code policy (hospital-issued scrubs)
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year L&D RN experience (3 years preferred)
- Mother-baby experience preferred (minimum 1 year)
- Experience with magnesium administration, postpartum couplet care, and C-section recovery
- First-time travelers accepted
Skills
- Labor and delivery clinical expertise
- Triage and high-risk pregnancy management
- Newborn stabilization and initial care
- Fetal monitoring interpretation (Centricity)
- Strong teamwork and adaptability in a float environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licenses & Certifications
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
Additional Information
- Shift: 7a–7p or 7p–7a (Resource/Charge 6:45–6:45)
- No call requirement; no set weekend or holiday requirement for travelers
- 4-shift orientation provided
- No acrylic/gel nails due to NICU integration in 7 LDRP rooms
- Radius rule: must live 50+ miles from facility
- Travel pairs must have separate vehicles
