Job Description

Join the Hospital of Central Connecticut as an ED Crisis Clinician, where you'll provide essential mental health support in a fast-paced emergency department. Utilize your expertise to assess patients, coordinate care, and advocate for their needs while working within a collaborative healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts emergency psychiatric assessments and interprets the needs of patients
  • Facilitates treatment processes and coordinates care with ED staff
  • Documents assessments and case management activities related to patients
  • Participates in quality and safety initiatives
  • Engages in administrative activities, including team meetings and clinical supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably in an emergency department/crisis role
  • Current CT license required: LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
  • Computer proficient
  • Ability to assess problems and make timely decisions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Focused on personal, patient/client and unit/staff safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years' experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably in an emergency department/crisis role
