**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will maintain the delivery of quality patient care by following nursing care plans and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). As an RN, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients and their families.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to create individualized care plans.
- Identify patient and family teaching needs and set goals based on nursing assessments and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates during Initial Team Conferences and weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
- Ensure accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records.
- Participate in and support the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing education based on identified healthcare needs.
- Initiate discharge planning upon admission and provide necessary patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate significant changes in patient status to other care providers, including physicians and nursing staff, to support continuity and safety.
- Offer direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing staff while effectively delegating tasks.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following hospital policies and procedures related to personal and environmental safety.
- Contribute positively to unit dynamics by offering calm direction and reassurance to peers, patients, and families.
- Communicate with management regarding supply, equipment needs, and clinical training for effective job performance.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested following your orientation period.
- Seek opportunities for professional development through continued education and self-study.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure effective use of time and staff to meet patient needs.
- Perform additional duties as requested to support team objectives.
**Qualifications:**
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before first shift.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before first shift (specific facilities only).
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
