Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Manchester, Connecticut 06040 (Greater Hartford area)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Healthcare Setting: Family Birthing Center (20 beds, average daily census of 12)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), block scheduling
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1860-$2000
• Scrubs: Provided

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, EFM-C
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• References and copies of certifications required upon submission

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and perform newborn assessments
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC
• Administer medications and therapies such as magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, Pitocin, and blood products
• Educate and support parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, car seat safety, and discharge planning
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal resuscitation
• Document patient care using Omnicell, Meditech, and GE Centricity systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
