Key Responsibilities
Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations
Facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel
Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances
Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the U.S.
Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of contraband
Required Qualifications
Minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level
Detaining suspected violators of laws
Enforcing laws and regulations relating to importing and exporting
Utilizing intelligence techniques to identify threats
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher
Combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education
