Key Responsibilities
Perform forensic examinations and assess patients' psychological conditions
Collect and preserve evidence and document findings
Provide direct nursing care and referrals as necessary
Communicate with victims and their families about evidence collection and treatment
Provide victim advocacy and expert testimony in court
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within 3 months
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
1 year of RN experience or 6 months as an Advanced Practice Nurse
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in forensic nursing
Experience in victim advocacy
