Key Responsibilities
Interact with patients to address billing inquiries and ensure resolution
Verify insurance eligibility and initiate payment arrangements
Analyze and follow up on patient account balances
Work on patient accounts, correcting and rebilling as necessary
Collect payments and post discounts to accounts
Follow customer service protocols
Document all account activity and collaborate with bad debt vendors
Adhere to patient account policies
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
Must be 18 years of age or older
2+ years of related experience, including billing in a physician office or medical collections
Proficiency with keyboard and 10 key adding machine
Computer literacy
Clerical skills and attention to detail
Communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Flexibility to work shift schedules during business hours and onsite for the first 90 days
