Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with patients to address billing inquiries and ensure resolution
  • Verify insurance eligibility and initiate payment arrangements
  • Analyze and follow up on patient account balances
  • Work on patient accounts, correcting and rebilling as necessary
  • Collect payments and post discounts to accounts
  • Follow customer service protocols
  • Document all account activity and collaborate with bad debt vendors
  • Adhere to patient account policies

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of related experience, including billing in a physician office or medical collections
  • Proficiency with keyboard and 10 key adding machine
  • Computer literacy
  • Clerical skills and attention to detail
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work shift schedules during business hours and onsite for the first 90 days
