• Location: Marquette, MI 49855 (Upper Peninsula, Michigan)
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department & Observation Unit
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing (W2)
• Patient Population: Adults (18+)
• Unit Size: Observation Unit (10 beds)
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,880 - $2,020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• NIH Stroke Scale and Telemetry/ECG competency
• Preferred: Telemetry experience, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• Ability to float to Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro-Ortho units
• Availability to work weekends and holidays

ER RN Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and frequent reassessments to monitor patient progress in the emergency department
• Develop and update care plans based on provider orders, patient condition, and clinical judgment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and diagnostic preparations per hospital protocol
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and diagnostic findings; report changes promptly
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Cerner EHR
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge workflows efficiently
• Support safe transitions of care, including patient teaching and follow-up appointments
• Respond to emergencies and perform interventions within RN scope of practice
• Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, hospital policies, and regulatory standards
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes
