Job Description

The Chief Clinical and Quality Officer will lead clinical operations and performance excellence at a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Southeast Iowa. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, improving patient care outcomes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration among healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure patient care outcomes are maximized
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
  • Maintain continuous quality assessment and improvement analysis
  • Collaborate with hospital departments for service continuity
  • Conduct compliance readiness and mock surveys
  • Lead development of new clinical programs
  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related clinical discipline
  • Valid, unencumbered clinical licensure
  • 7+ years of clinical practice experience in a hospital environment
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital environment
  • 5 years of executive leadership experience
  • 2+ years of direct quality management in a hospital setting
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPHQ or related healthcare quality certification
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality, clinical, financial, and other data
