Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in our IMC2 (Intermediate Care) unit . This role is designed for nurses with strong step-down or intermediate care experience who can provide high-quality, compassionate care to acutely ill patients requiring close observation and advanced nursing interventions.

Candidates will interview for Intermediate Care level RN positions. ICU-trained nurses are welcome to apply if they are comfortable working in an IMC-level environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and comprehensive patient care to adults requiring intermediate-level monitoring and interventions.
• Continuously assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex medical conditions.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms; respond appropriately to patient condition changes.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes and safe transitions of care.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Document all care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR .
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and nursing best practices.

Qualifications:

• Active Texas (TX) RN license – required prior to start.
• 1.5–2 years of prior PCU RN experience – required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications – required.
• Epic charting experience – required.
• First-time travelers accepted – supportive onboarding provided.
• ICU-trained RNs welcome if willing to work at the IMC level.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills essential.
