Join Interstate Waste Services as a Landfill Engineer and play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our advanced landfill. You will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee construction projects, and collaborate with various teams to promote environmental safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support on various landfill systems associated with the waste disposal site
Develop an understanding of all permits governing the construction and operation of landfill disposal sites
Work with professional consulting firms in preparation of compliance reports and permitting documents
Provide quality assurance of work submitted by consulting firms for adherence to regulatory requirements
Manage landfill construction contract administration, materials order, and delivery
Prepare, review, and submit engineering, monitoring and environmental reports
Lead environmental reviews, audits, and inspections with regulators and customers
Formulate short-term and long-term goals with the operations team
Identify and estimate the cost of site capital needs
Interact with state and local agencies for compliance
Review waste profiles for adherence to waste acceptance plan
Complete monthly soil tracking reports and other status reports
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
3 to 7 years of experience in landfill related engineering
Strong verbal, written, computer communication and organization skills
Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
