Unit Overview
The Emergency Department (ED) is a fast-paced 70-bed unit that provides care for adult and pediatric patients. Staff must be prepared to assume care across all age groups, utilizing critical care equipment such as ventilators and BiPAP. This role supports high-acuity emergency care in a collaborative environment.

- Required Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS; 8 hours of stroke CEUs; 8 hours of trauma CEUs
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ED performs comprehensive patient assessments, determines care priorities, and delivers immediate interventions as needed. Key duties include:
- Analyzing assessment data to formulate and implement individualized plans of care.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of interventions in collaboration with medical staff.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures of Inspira Health Network.
- Providing emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including those requiring critical care support.
This role demands quick decision-making, teamwork, and proficiency in high-stress environments.
Scheduling and Additional Requirements
- Weekend Availability: Must be available to work weekends.
- Float Requirements: Float within specialty (e.g., to ED hold); must float to Elmer facility as needed.
- Holiday Scheduling: Typically, Mullica Hill does not schedule contractors on holidays in the ED, but this may change based on census.
- Requested Time Off (RTO): No more than 3 days accepted per assignment.
- Block Scheduling/Special Requests: Not permitted. No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent ED experience required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior contract assignment).
Certification/Licensure
- Current licensure with the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
- American Heart Association BLS required.
- American Heart Association ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
- American Heart Association PALS required within 6 months of hire.
- NIHSS certification required.
- Critical Care Course within 1 year (or equivalent: 2 years of critical care experience or current CEN certification).
- Completion of the Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) taught by the Emergency Nurses Association within 12 months of initial assignment, followed by a minimum of 8 contact hours of education every two (2) years in trauma assessment, intervention, and stabilization.
- National certification in a specialty area (e.g., CEN) preferred.
First Day Instructions? /Orientation:
Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination- once scheduled, candidate does not have the option of rescheduling any classes.
Candidate will receive an email directly from Inspira the Friday before the Monday start. The email will contain the following information;
- They will receive instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream Module from Human Resources sometime prior to 8:30 on Monday. Monday GEO will be Virtual from their own computer. The modules assigned must be completed by Monday or they will be removed from the orientation list.
- In person class schedule list- Typically Tues-Thurs- these classes are held in multiple locations. The location may not be listed in the original email, candidate is required to use Health Stream to determine class location day of. Please Note *The POCT class will required to attend and is not during orientation week.
- Unit based orientation schedule from manager.
- Badge ID Link- instructions on how to make an appointment t o receive their ID badge in person. Photo submissions are not permitted. Must be complete during orientation. The Badge is required for clock ins.
