Join St. Peter’s Health as an Infection Prevention RN and play a crucial role in enhancing patient safety through the development and oversight of infection prevention programs. Collaborate with clinical teams and leadership to identify infection trends, educate staff, and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct infection surveillance and trend analysis
Develop, review, and update infection control policies and protocols
Educate and coach clinical staff on infection prevention best practices
Lead outbreak investigations and recommend corrective actions
Collaborate with Employee Health to manage occupational exposures
Perform Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRAs) for construction projects
Maintain infection-related documentation and report communicable diseases
Participate in regulatory survey preparation, audits, and accreditation activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a degree in epidemiology or microbiology
Understanding of hospital epidemiology and clinical/environmental microbiology
Familiarity with sterilization, disinfection, and sanitation practices in healthcare settings
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred; required within one year of hire
