We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse to assist in complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries. The CVOR RN plays a critical role in the operating room, providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and setup of the cardiovascular OR, including instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Serve as a circulating or scrub nurse during cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures (e.g., CABG, valve repair/replacement, aneurysm repair).
- Ensure proper sterile technique and infection control protocols are followed.
- Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery and collaborate with the surgical team to respond to changes.
- Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of surgical procedures, assessments, and interventions.
- Coordinate with anesthesia, perfusionists, and surgical team members to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide post-operative care and handoff communication to ICU or PACU staff as appropriate
-Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
