Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Petoskey, MI 49770 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) – Stepdown/Progressive Care
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 3, 2025
• End Date: February 2, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: Possible
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1740–$1860

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Progressive Care, or Telemetry nursing experience
• Proficiency in cardiac care, EKG interpretation, and post-cardiac procedure monitoring
• Ability to float to similar units as needed
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Completion of a skills checklist for RN specialties within the past year

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, including those recovering from PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers
• Monitor and assess patients post-open heart surgery (18-24 hours post-op)
• Manage care for patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in national clinical trials managed by the NISUS research department
• Maintain strict attendance and punctuality to support patient care standards
• Float to similar progressive care or telemetry units as required
