Job Description

Join Grainger as a Warehouse Maintenance Technician in Gresham, Oregon, where you'll be the expert on automated material handling systems. You'll play a critical role in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment to ensure maximum system uptime, directly impacting the efficiency of our distribution center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary responder for complex system issues involving automated material handling
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades and repairs to DC assets
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
  • Work in teams to resolve problems with unique solutions
  • Perform audits and quality checks on equipment
  • Provide diagnosis analyses on building equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot and report on material handling system performance

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of building and equipment maintenance experience
  • Two years maintaining automated material handling systems
  • Technical training in electronic controls, power distribution, and PLC troubleshooting
  • Experience using electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and schematics
  • Understanding of codes such as NEC, BOCA, UBC, MSDS, and OSHA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with thermal imaging equipment
  • Experience with AC drives (set-up, programming, faults)
  • Technical skills to become subject matter expert for automated material handling systems
  • Understanding of power distribution, power generation, and control circuits
  • Experience with PLC programming changes (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
