Join Dell Medical School as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatric Neurosurgery, where you'll deliver exceptional care to pediatric patients with neurological conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities
Provide care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses in the neurosurgical service
Oversee patient clinical records, labs, and imaging for outpatient consultations
Conduct health history and physical assessments of pediatric patients
Coordinate preoperative evaluations for surgical patients
Participate in daily rounds and collaborate with the healthcare team
Evaluate patients for routine post-op care and manage complications
Manage communications between healthcare team, patients, and families
Provide after-hours call coverage as part of the APP team
Participate in clinical trials and research projects
Assist in the development of staff resource utilization and training
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program or Physician Assistant's program
Active RN and APRN license in Texas or PA license in Texas
Active board certification as an Acute Care Pediatric NP or PA
Active DEA license or ability to apply for it
Current CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of experience in pediatric neurosurgical practice
Experience with large research projects and clinical trials
