Key Responsibilities
Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws
Facilitating legitimate trade and travel
Conducting inspections of individuals and vehicles
Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the U.S.
Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of contraband
Required Qualifications
Minimum of one year of specialized experience in law enforcement
Detaining suspected violators of laws
Enforcing laws related to importing and exporting
Utilizing intelligence techniques to identify threats
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity
U.S. Citizenship
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
Age restriction - must be referred before 40th birthday
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution
Combination of experience and graduate-level education
