Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Process and prepare specimens for testing
  • Troubleshoot specimen collection and testing issues
  • Provide patient collection instructions
  • Perform waived and moderate complexity laboratory testing
  • Interact with patients and healthcare providers professionally
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Phlebotomy Certificate program through an accredited school

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification
  • BLS (AHA) certification
  • Documented training program for CLIA regulation
  • 2+ years of blood draw experience
  • Experience performing EKGs
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems and electronic medical records
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimen collection
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse patient population
  • Thorough understanding of phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards
  • Familiarity with EKG procedures
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
