Key Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership to drive student achievement and effective operations
Participate in recruitment and selection of faculty/staff
Analyze staff professional development needs
Lead induction and training of new staff
Monitor facilities and programs for safety and compliance
Oversee daily school operations and manage schedules
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in resource allocation
Participate in the enrollment process and manage student placements
Instruct and evaluate staff and students in effective use of resources
Participate in accreditation and quality assurance processes
Prepare and present reports on student achievement
Maintain accurate records of student progress
Promote a positive school culture and provide guidance to students
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in education, special education, psychology, counseling, applied behavior analysis, social work, or a closely related field
Educational leadership, school principal, administrator or related credential with minimum 2 years prior experience working with pupils with disabilities
Pupil personnel services (PPS) credential with authorization for school counseling or psychology
Licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) credential
Licensure in psychology regulated by the Board of Psychology
Credential authorizing special education instruction with minimum 2 years special education teaching experience
Licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), educational psychologist (LEP), or professional clinical counselor (LPCC)
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years prior experience in educational leadership or school administrator role
Minimum 2 years prior teaching experience in a special education program setting
Minimum 2 years prior experience working with pupils with disabilities
Prior experience in curriculum development, assessment, and management
Knowledge of state licensure, certification, accreditation laws and regulations
Skilled in working with children with severe learning and emotional disorders
Effective management skills and knowledge of school operations
Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and positive behavior interventions
Proficiency in providing motivation and critical conversations with students
Ability to build relationships with students, parents, and community partners
Advanced communication, organization, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
Knowledge of relevant technology and instructional technology
