Join Optum as an Associate Pharmacy Care Technician and play a pivotal role in supporting pharmacy programs. Your contributions will improve health outcomes and enhance member engagement through effective communication and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct high volume outbound calls to members regarding medication compliance
Answer inbound calls and assist members with inquiries
Follow system scripting and validate member demographic information
Document accurate information obtained from calls
Perform claims documentation review for correct billing
Support internal staff and providers with Medicare drug-related issues
Contribute to pharmacy quality improvement initiatives
Maintain eligibility information confidentially
Exhibit excellent phone and communication skills
Adhere to assigned schedule and quality metrics
Use a multi-lined telephonic system for calls regarding eligibility and medication refills
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
Certified Pharmacy Technician CPhT (Must have national certification and be licensed in Texas)
1+ years of customer service experience
6+ months of experience in a call center setting
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a physician’s clinic or hospital
6+ months medical terminology knowledge
Knowledge of Medicare Part D pharmacy record review, claims, billing, and reimbursement rules
Bilingual language proficiency (English/Spanish)
