Key Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans and programs focusing on functional outcomes.
  • Deliver specialized individual and group occupational therapy instruction as mandated in students’ IEPs.
  • Collect data and complete reports regarding student goals and progress.
  • Consult with other professionals on the student's treatment team.
  • Assess and document each student’s progress through tests and measurements.
  • Write and prepare annual review reports and goals for each student.
  • Provide parent and caregiver support and education.
  • Attend school-related meetings for individual students.
  • Ensure a suitable learning environment by preparing materials and supplies.
  • Provide screenings and evaluations for skilled occupational therapy intervention.
  • Supervise COTA(s) as needed.
  • Communicate with schools and families for therapy referrals.
  • Follow safety guidelines for functional mobility.
  • Maintain quality of therapy records.
  • Participate in training programs for students and staff.
