Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques and medical protocols
Ensure high-quality care with minimal fear and stress for every patient
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality, high-volume surgical procedures
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Support internal ASPCA departments with medical consultations
Participate in monthly Veterinary Medicine rounds and meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
