Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques and medical protocols
  • Ensure high-quality care with minimal fear and stress for every patient
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality, high-volume surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
  • Support internal ASPCA departments with medical consultations
  • Participate in monthly Veterinary Medicine rounds and meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

  • Previous people management experience
