Join East Memphis Surgery Center as a Sterile Processing Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and supplies to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Care and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies according to AAMI standards
Maintain established inventory levels by checking supplies and equipment
Order supplies for the area
Perform testing of sterilizers and keep accurate records
Organize time, equipment, and supplies for the OR
Confirm proper aseptic techniques and procedures
Assist in managing inventory of supplies and equipment
Perform daily testing and maintain sterilization logs
Clean, wrap, and sterilize equipment using multiple methods
Ensure instruments are accounted for upon receipt from the OR
Assist in cleaning and turnover of OR rooms between cases
Required Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent
2 years of instrument technician experience or equivalent experience
Certified Sterile Processing Certificate
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
Knowledge of standard precautions, aseptic technique, and principles of sterilization and instrument handling
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups
Additional languages preferred
