Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel contract in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department. The RN will provide critical care to patients of all ages, including trauma, cardiac, and medical emergencies, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

This is a travel-required role — applicants must have at least one year of previous travel nursing experience to be considered (hard stop).

Responsibilities:
  • Triage, assess, and stabilize patients presenting with emergent and life-threatening conditions.
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric populations.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and continuous sedation per protocol.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to codes and rapid responses.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social work).
  • Float to nearby sister facilities if needed (rarely).
  • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays per contract requirements.
Requirements:
  • Active RN License – must be in hand at submission.
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience.
  • At least 1 year of travel experience – required (no exceptions).
  • Certifications:
    • Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
  • Charting System: Cerner preferred.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4 (days, nights, weekends).
  • Orientation: 48 hours.
  • Locals: Not accepted.
Skills:
  • Triage and rapid patient assessment
  • IV insertion and management
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation and emergency response
  • Ventilator management and care of intubated patients
  • Continuous IV sedation administration
  • Experience in Level I or Level II trauma setting preferred
Unit & Department Details:
  • Unit: Emergency Department (combined Adult/Pediatric)
  • Beds/Rooms: 53
  • Average Daily Census: ~150 patients
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Float: Yes – may float within hospital or to sister facilities as needed (rarely)
  • Support Services: Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Work, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Team

  • Shift: Nights (7p–7a, 3x12s)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
  • RTO: Up to 5 non-holiday days auto-approved; must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • COVID Vaccine: Not required
