Job Description

Join Cargill as an Industrial Electrician and contribute to building a sustainable future. You'll play a key role in maintaining and installing electrical systems in our protein and salt business, ensuring safe operations and high-quality food products for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and install electrical equipment
  • Coordinate installation and maintenance efforts
  • Consult to plan equipment layout and resolve issues
  • Determine equipment feasibility and specifications
  • Work with voltage levels up to 480 and 4160
  • Study blueprints and specifications for installation
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks
  • Inspect equipment for defects
  • Advise management on equipment safety
  • Maintain equipment logs
  • Troubleshoot problems as required
  • Follow safety regulations and standards
  • Assist with contracted electrical projects
  • Participate in ongoing training
  • Perform tasks professionally and timely

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • 18 years or older
  • Physical job duties including bending/stooping and climbing ladders
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Work under special conditions (extreme heat or cold)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Operate machinery
  • Read/write English
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • Perform electrical maintenance trade
  • Experience with blueprints and manuals
  • Operate mobile equipment
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Basic mathematical functions
  • Willing to work in inclement conditions
  • Indoor and outdoor plant environment
  • Very good time management skills
  • Install conduit and pull wire
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Adequate transportation
  • Use multiple tools for electrical work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Using electrical test equipment for analysis and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Mechanical aptitude for blueprints and manuals
  • Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska
  • 2-year degree in electromechanical or electrical system
