Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and make a difference in animal welfare. Lead a dedicated team, provide quality care, and support underserved communities through innovative veterinary services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
  • Support a positive work culture and provide regular feedback to team members
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgical procedures
  • Provide preventive and basic care to patients in underserved areas
  • Participate in administrative tasks and support ASPCA’s research and development

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience strongly preferred
