Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Cedar Rapids, IA 52402 (Iowa travel nursing jobs)
• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology/Neuro Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/7/2025 – End: 3/8/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Setting: On-site, Travel Nursing
• Bed Size: 24-bed unit
• Patient Ratios: Days/Evenings – 1:5, Nights – 1:6
• EMR: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,860 - $2,000

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (first-time travel nurses welcome with 2 years' experience)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Ability to float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units
• Experience administering heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone
• Clinical experience with Med/Surg, neurology, and oncology patients
• One supervisory performance evaluation/reference from within the last 2 years
• Proof of taxable address (for travel nursing policy compliance)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg Oncology/Neuro unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to manage patient care using the nursing process
• Float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units as needed
• Administer medications including heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone
• Care for patients with diverse medical, neurological, and oncological conditions
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
