Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures Serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students Verifies physician order and procedure for accuracy Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care Explains procedures to patients Operates equipment to complete imaging procedures Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality Completes quality control procedures Facilitates departmental operations Adapts behavior to specific patient populations Performs other related duties as required Required QualificationsCompletion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Preferred Qualifications2 years of sonographer experience Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty
