Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs high complexity, moderate complexity or waived laboratory testing
  • Utilizes advanced clinical laboratory instrumentation and methodologies
  • Confirms, verifies, and reports results of testing independently
  • Conducts and evaluates established quality control
  • Performs required departmental preventative maintenance
  • Recognizes and corrects instrument or procedural malfunctions
  • Provides clinical orientation and/or training of new employees/students

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science field
  • Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing
  • Demonstrated technical skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific documents
  • Less than 1 year of experience and a clinical laboratory internship
  • Ability to read, understand, and speak basic English
  • Demonstrated dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs
  • Ability to apply common mathematical skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions

  • MLT - Medical Laboratory Technologist ASCP - State of Pennsylvania
  • MT - Medical Technologist - AAB Board of Registry
