Job Description
Join Christus Health as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in occupational medicine and fracture liaison services. This full-time role offers the opportunity to manage outpatient care and provide urgent care procedures, making a significant impact on patient health and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage post-operative hip fracture patients and monitor bone healing
Order and interpret labs and DEXA scans
Prescribe medications to promote bone density and prevent future fractures
Provide ongoing primary and secondary fracture prevention care
Coordinate care with orthopedic surgery and primary care as needed
Perform DOT physicals and pre-employment evaluations
Treat work-related injuries, including orthopedic-related cases
Provide urgent care services including wound care, laceration repair, suturing, splinting, and IV hydration
Read initial X-rays and manage minor procedures
Accept walk-in patients for occupational health and minor urgent care needs
Required Qualifications
Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New Mexico
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Urgent Care or Primary Care
