The MDS Nurse (RN or LPN) performs comprehensive resident assessments and care plan coordination using the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process in a skilled nursing environment. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with Medicare schedules and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and monitoring. This role requires nursing licensure, knowledge of the Prospective Payment System, and strong organizational skills to support quality patient care outside of bedside nursing.
