Travel RN – LTAC | Nights | Tucson, AZ

Location: Tucson, AZ
Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC)
Schedule: 3x12s – Night Shift
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 weeks
License: Active AZ RN license or compact equivalent
Certifications: BLS required
Experience: LTAC, stepdown, or med/surg ICU experience strongly preferred

Position Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse to join a Long-Term Acute Care facility in Tucson, AZ . The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, supervising LPNs and CNAs, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their stay.

This role is ideal for RNs with a strong foundation in critical thinking, multitasking, and a patient-centered approach in a high-acuity post-acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans

  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility policy

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, goal-oriented care

  • Provide education to patients and families to support recovery and discharge planning

  • Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the appropriate providers and team members

  • Participate in care team meetings and discharge planning starting from admission

  • Supervise and support ancillary staff, delegating tasks appropriately

  • Promote patient and environmental safety (e.g., infection prevention, fall prevention)

  • Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment for patient care delivery

  • Serve in charge nurse capacity as needed following orientation

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training

Qualifications:

  • Active AZ RN license or compact license

  • BLS certification (AHA required)

  • At least 1-2 years of recent LTAC, stepdown, or critical care experience

  • Strong documentation and care coordination skills

  • Able to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
