Join the Warrick County Sheriff's Department as a Dispatcher, where you'll play a critical role in emergency response by receiving and dispatching calls for police, fire, and EMS services. This position demands quick thinking, effective communication, and a deep understanding of local geography and law enforcement procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, prioritize, and process emergency and non-emergency calls
Dispatch Police, Fire, EMS, and other personnel
Comfort emotionally distressed individuals
Maintain and track the status of all response personnel
Operate and maintain communication equipment
Document and retrieve information for law enforcement agencies
Prepare written reports
Serve as a liaison with officials and media
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
At least 18 years of age
Ability to pass a drug screen
Ability to obtain required certifications including Emergency Medical Dispatching, Law Enforcement Dispatch, Fire Safety Dispatch, IDACS/NCIC systems, CPR/First Aid
Thorough knowledge of Department policies and community geography
Ability to communicate effectively under stress
Ability to operate standard office and dispatch equipment
