About the position-:

• Patient Types: primarily cardiac with additional cases as needed
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Bed Size: 16
• Scrubs: provided
• Avg. caseload – Average 35-50 cases per day. Expectation for turnovers is less than 20 minutes.
• Special equipment – 3 Davinci robots. Use Stealth technology for Neuro navigation and use primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma. We don’t do many ortho joints.
• How many suites – 16 OR’s. Run from 12-14 routinely. As a level 1 trauma center, we reserve space for traumas.
• Service lines- Cardiac/ PV, Neuro, ortho (primarily trauma), robotics, gyn, neuro, general, pediatrics, transplants. We do a small volume of ENT and plastic procedures.
• Scrub or Circulate – both would be best.
• Other – the call for weekends is from end of shift on Friday until 0630am Monday.

Requirements-:

• 3+ years of current OR experience in hospital/medical center - outpatient experience does not substitute
• strong Cardiac, vascular, thoracic proficiency & experience required
• Level I experience
• No 1st time travelers, must have completed a travel contract within previous 12 mos
• Scrub experience
• EPIC experience
• MUST have experience in other cases outside of CVOR/Cardiac cases (examples: neuro, ortho/trauma, general, gyn, pediatrics)
• Active Iowa/Compact RN License
• BLS and ACLS eCard

Weekend Requirements-: Call schedule; Fri 5p through Mon 6:30a On Call Requirements-: Up to 2 overnights per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract
