Join Grainger as an Industrial Mechanic in Gresham, Oregon, where you will be the expert on automated material handling systems. You'll provide essential technical support for mechanical, electrical, and operational controls, ensuring maximum system uptime in a fast-paced distribution center.
Key Responsibilities
Primary responder for complex system issues involving automated material handling
Assist with infrastructure upgrades and repairs to DC assets
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system components
Work in teams to resolve problems and propose solutions
Perform audits and quality checks on equipment and systems
Required Qualifications
Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of building and equipment maintenance experience
2 years maintaining automated material handling systems
Complete technical training in electronic controls, power distribution, and PLC troubleshooting
Experienced using electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools
Experienced with reading and interpreting MEP drawings and schematics
High level of understanding of codes such as NEC, BOCA, UBC, MSDS, and OSHA
Technical skills to become subject matter expert for automated material handling systems
Understanding of power distribution, power generation, and control circuits
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with thermal imaging equipment
Experienced with AC drives (set-up, programming, faults)
Troubleshoot and implement changes to I/O device networks such as ProfiBus, ASiBus, Data Highway and CanBus
