Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and support both experienced and new veterinarians in providing high-quality care to underserved communities. You'll lead a dedicated team while performing essential veterinary services and ensuring outstanding client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic.
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality spay/neuter techniques.
  • Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and coaching.
  • Perform high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgical procedures.
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients.
  • Participate in monthly Veterinary Medicine Rounds and Meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification
