Job Description

Join Interstate Waste Services as a Diesel Mechanic and play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet of diesel heavy trucks and equipment. You'll perform inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs while enjoying a supportive company culture that balances corporate standards with a family-style atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
  • Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes and assign necessary repairs
  • Assist with emergency breakdowns as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • Experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school
  • Ability to speak and read English
  • Meet physical and safety requirements of the position
  • Provide own tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience as a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic
  • Experience with troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, CAT, Peterbilt, and Paccar
  • Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
