Job Description
Join Interstate Waste Services as a Diesel Mechanic and play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet of diesel heavy trucks and equipment. You'll perform inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs while enjoying a supportive company culture that balances corporate standards with a family-style atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes and assign necessary repairs
Assist with emergency breakdowns as needed
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
Experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school
Ability to speak and read English
Meet physical and safety requirements of the position
Provide own tools
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience as a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic
Experience with troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems
Familiarity with diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, CAT, Peterbilt, and Paccar
Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
