Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing compassionate veterinary care to underserved communities. This role combines leadership and hands-on veterinary practice, ensuring high-quality care with a focus on animal well-being and community service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and medical protocols
  • Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
  • Perform high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate veterinary care to underserved areas
  • Participate in monthly CM Veterinary Medicine Rounds and meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

  • Previous people management experience
