Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: White Plains, NY 10601 (New York nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Labor & Delivery Unit
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• End Date: February 16, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13-week travel contract
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed 34.5 hours/week)
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period)
• Scrub Color: Provided by hospital
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse) – New York state preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (high risk experience required)
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BSN preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Experience in fast-paced clinical environments
• Familiarity with Meditech, GE, and Epic charting systems is a plus

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a 14-bed Labor & Delivery unit (triage, labor, and OR beds)
• Conduct patient assessments and physical exams
• Scrub for C-sections and assist with high-risk obstetric patients
• Manage magnesium sulfate and other high-risk OB cases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including hospitalists, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy
• Float to OB or nursery for support tasks as needed (no patient assignments when floating)
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech, GE, and Epic electronic health record systems
• Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service in all patient interactions
