Job Description

Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Patient Accounts Representative and leverage your expertise in healthcare finance. You will manage patient accounts, ensure accurate billing processes, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of insurance processes including deductibles, out-of-pockets, and copays
  • Accurately record payments from patients and insurance companies in the billing system
  • Conduct regular reviews of patient accounts to identify discrepancies
  • Interact with patients to address billing inquiries
  • Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all interactions related to patient accounts
  • Ensure strict compliance with healthcare billing regulations
  • Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status for management review

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare finance or billing
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes and healthcare billing regulations
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in relevant software applications for billing and financial record-keeping
