Position: Nurse Educator – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Concord, MA
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Shift Type: 12-hour Days
Schedule: No weekends, no holidays, no call

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing in Massachusetts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience , with at least 3 years in Maternity/OB
  • Current Massachusetts RN license (required)
  • BLS & NRP certification (required)
  • BLS & NRP Instructor certification (required)

Job Summary

The Nurse Educator serves as a role model, consultant, change agent, and facilitator in assessing learning needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for the Emerson Hospital Obstetrical Nursing areas. Utilizing evidence-based instructional techniques and adult/pediatric learning principles, the Nurse Educator develops and implements job aids, performance criteria, clinical competencies, and interactive practical experiences to support staff development and enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborates with the Director of Obstetrical Nursing and staff to assess learning needs.
  2. Plans and implements educational activities based on adult and pediatric learning principles.
  3. Designs and coordinates annual education and competency review plans for the department.
  4. Develops and utilizes evaluation tools to measure effectiveness of educational programs and determine next steps.
