We are a large and growing emergency and specialty hospital located in beautiful Portland, Maine . Our facility is home to board-certified experts in Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Dermatology .

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Technician in Cardiology , you’ll be an integral part of our cardiology team, which includes a newly hired full-time cardiologist set to join us in late summer. This role involves technical, diagnostic, and client-focused responsibilities that directly contribute to high-quality outcomes for patients with complex cardiac conditions.

In this role, you will:

• Complete diagnostic testing including cardiac monitoring devices 
• Support patient care
• Assist the cardiologist with ECGs and echocardiograms
• Position and capture digital radiographs
• Accurately calculate and administer medications
• Assist with case follow-up, patient updates, and client communication
• Participate in team rounds, treatment coordination, and patient flow management

Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position

• Tuesday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• Some holidays are required

Compensation

• Starting at $28/hr, final rate based on experience and licensure 
• up to $2,5000 sign on bonus, commensurate with experience and licensure

Requirements

•   Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) or an experienced veterinary technician with cardiology knowledge
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Comfort working with advanced diagnostics, imaging, and anesthetic monitoring
• A compassionate, patient-centered mindset
• Ability to work well in a team and support a fast-paced, specialty environment
