General Education Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
- Adheres to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP 1–5) .
- Plans, implements, and evaluates instructional programs based on the California Content Standards .
- Utilizes effective teaching strategies and assessments to promote student learning and achievement.
- Creates a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.
- Collaborates with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Maintains accurate records of student progress and communicates regularly with parents/guardians.
- Participates in professional development, staff meetings, and school events as required.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, district policies, and contractual obligations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the site administrator.
General Education Teacher Position Qualifications

- Possession of an appropriate California Teaching Credential .
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain within two (2) years, an English Learner (EL) Authorization .
- ESEA compliant (Every Student Succeeds Act).
Specialized Knowledge and **
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse student population .
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are desired but not required .
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and instructional excellence.
General Education Teacher Physical Demands
- Environment : Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
- Activity : Frequent engagement in tasks such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items, with or without reasonable accommodations.
