Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist
Location: 1700 Coffee Rd, Modesto, CA 95355
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10-Hour (06:45 AM – 05:15 PM or 08:45 AM – 07:15 PM)
Contract Length: Variable / Local Assignment
Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist for a dynamic cardiac catheterization lab in Modesto, CA. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring a variety of Cath Lab procedures including coronary angiograms with PCI, pacemaker insertions, and peripheral aortograms. This role requires flexibility to work on-call shifts with one weekend call per month.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Required:
    • RCIS (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification OR
    • AART (Advanced ARRT) with California State Licensure
  • Preferred:
    • California ARRT Radiology Technologist license
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiac cath lab settings
  • Experience with scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring Cath Lab procedures including:
    • Coronary angiograms and Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
    • Pacemaker and temporary pacemaker insertions
    • Peripheral aortograms
    • Electrophysiology (EP) studies
    • Hemodynamic monitoring

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain equipment and sterile fields for procedures
  • Perform EKG lead placement and patient prep including access site preparation
  • Monitor patient hemodynamics and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Assist with vascular closure devices such as Perclose and StarClose
  • Support cardiac procedures including:
    • Diagnostic and interventional catheterizations (left and right heart)
    • Angioplasty, stent placement, IABP and Impella insertion/removal
    • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)* and Rotablator atherectomy
    • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR)*
    • Watchman device placements*
  • Maintain inventory, equipment operation, and supply stocking
  • Participate in on-call rotations: 8-12 call shifts per month including one weekend call

Work Environment

  • Adult patient population
  • Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, and EP Lab
  • Utilize fluoroscopy and PACS systems
