As a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist at ECHN, you will evaluate patients and deliver tailored treatments to enhance their speech and language capabilities. You will collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment and contribute to community education while supervising students. Key Responsibilities
Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
Conducts and modifies evaluations based on symptoms and medical status
Treats patients using appropriate therapeutic techniques
Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
Utilizes effective techniques to normalize speech and language activity
Educates patients/families in home exercise programs
Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment
Documents according to insurance guidelines
Fosters interdepartmental communication regarding patient care
Submits charges accurately and consistently
Adheres to professional code of ethics
Supervises at least one affiliated student per year
Attends continuing education courses
Participates in departmental or community in-service
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
Holds or is eligible for current Connecticut license
Eligible for or has a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
Valid drivers' license for occasional travel between ECHN business sites
