Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Hospital Medical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in patient care and support. You'll work collaboratively with providers, ensuring a seamless experience for patients while performing essential medical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens and route them to the correct lab
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments with providers and specialists
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and keep appropriate records
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures at the front desk
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
At least one year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Able to communicate with doctors clearly and concisely
Able to communicate with patients and co-workers in a professional manner
Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds
Able to stand for prolonged periods
