Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Engineer Systems in support of the Sentinel weapon system program. This highly visible individual contributor role will be in Roy, UT and will support the Air Force’s development, production and deployment of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) ground and airborne launch control systems, launch facilities, launch control centers, and associated infrastructure. This position may offer a competitive relocation package.

In this role, you will lead interface product development and integration efforts for Sentinel WS. As an interface team member you will participate in conducting weapon system architecture development, integration and reporting. The primary nature of this role is in support of the Sentinel EMD program milestones.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following

  • Lead development and maintenance of Sentinel WS interface architecture for externals and segment-to-segment interface.
  • Lead integration activities of interface architecture across Weapon System Architectural Model (RIPL, CLAM, AVAM, RVAM...etc.)
  • Support development of metrics and provide updates to leadership regarding interface architectural readiness for MPE events.
  • Work with the internal and external Sentinel stakeholders to release interface products at technical review boards

Basic Qualification For a Staff Engineer Systems

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field & 12 years of related experience; Master's degree in a STEM field & 10 years of related experience; PhD in a STEM field & 8 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute to technical discussions with team members, cross-organizational teams, and management
  • 3+ years of experience supporting architecture development for large DoD programs
  • 5+ years of experience working with MBSE tools (Cameo)
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must have Special Access Program (SAP) for Sentinel Program

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience managing requirements in DOORS
  • 1+ years of experience working with Systems Engineering and Integration and Test (SEIT) processes on the Sentinel Program
  • 1+ year of experience with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA/Confluence)
  • 1+ years of experience supporting trades studies

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
