Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health
Location: Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours/week, every other weekend
Contract Length: 13 weeks 

Facility Overview:
Twin County Regional Hospital, a Duke LifePoint facility, is a 141-bed hospital serving the Galax, VA community since 1973. The hospital offers a wide range of services including cardiac rehab, emergency care, orthopedics, pain management, and surgery. The Behavioral Health unit provides specialized care for adults with psychiatric conditions.

Unit Information:

• Department: Behavioral Health
• Beds: 12
• Patient Population: Adults (common diagnoses include bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, and personality disorders)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:8
• Equipment: Telehealth, Med Machine, Dinamap, Emergency Response System
• EHR: Paragon

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 1–2 years RN experience (must include medical RN experience)
• BLS and CPI (or Handle with Care) certification
• Strong skills in de-escalation, assessment, delegation, and restraint protocols
• Ability to float as needed

Preferred Experience:

• Non-behavioral health nursing background
• Prior Charge RN experience
